Lamin Anthony Ceesay, head coach of Bombada FC, has expressed his satisfaction with his team collecting a point away to Serrekunda United in the week two fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation first division league game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

“Drawing away is not bad,” Coach Ceesay said, adding that his team played well despite not going home with the maximum points.

He added that their primary target this season is to secure a point in every single game they play away and wait for teams in their backyard to hammer them at home in the second round.

He further said they aim to improve and play to a standard in every game they play.

The coach said his side’s draw with Serrekunda United is due to lack of concentration from the strikers. However, he added, although they could not score a goal in the game, they have improved, performance-wise, compared to their opening game of the season.

Coach Ceesay said their next game against Samger FC “will be interesting”, adding that Bombada FC will be looking forward to a win at home.

Modou Njie, Serrekunda United’s head coach, said the game against Bombada FC was theirs as it was better than their opening game.

He pointed out that for his team to avoid struggling to maintain themselves in the top flight tier this season, they have to score goals though goal-scoring has been their problem over the years.

Coach Njie, whose side played their opening 4 games without a point last season, said their record this season is better and they hope to keep improving.

However, he noted that their opening game display “was very poor” but they went back and worked on it.

He said they will work harder in training so they could collect their first 3 points of the season in their next game against Banjul United.
