The body of a 17-year-old boy was on Monday recovered from the sea around Laybato Lodge in Fajara.
Bilal Bah, a resident of Latrikunda German, was reportedly drowned on Sunday 10th April and his body was recovered on Monday 11th April.
News of the incident came amidst unconfirmed reports that 10 people drowned at sea, though the police can only confirm one death at the time of going to press.
Confirming Bah’s drowning to this paper, ASP Yerro Mballow, police public relations officer said the incident happened on 10th April, and the body was recovered the following day.
Mballow told this reporter that investigation is ongoing and that, as at now, the police can only confirm one death.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased were laid to rest yesterday in Latrikunda German.
