Steve Biko Fans Club is on the verge of organising a grand fund-raising show with the famous Gambian Kora King, Jaliba Kuyateh and the Kumareh Band, at the Bakau Community Centre on Sunday May 30th 2010, according to the President of the fans club, Ebrima Jadama, in this interview with Poinsport.
The purpose of the show is to raise fund, as well as enable the fans club implement planned activities for Steve Biko Football Club, if the words of Jadama are anything to go by.
The organiser of the programme, Dembo Fatty, who also spoke to our reporter highlighted the importance of the show, and as a result called on all and sundry to come out in large numbers to be part of the programme.
According to him, it will go a long way in trying to help Biko as a community-based club to raise fund in order to solve some of the problems facing the team.
Steve Biko was founded in 1978, and has since managed to establish itself as one of the finest Division One teams in Gambian football with a good number of youngsters from Bakau Giant Killers been exported in various clubs in Europe.
