The Luton Gambian Association in the UK is set to stage a big welcome programme for The Gambia's U-17 when the team flocks into the London town of Luton on Sunday 11th October 2009, at 102 Hitchin Road, Luton, LU2 0ES.
The Gambia's U-17 who are on a three-week training camp in the UK will be part of this event, described as by the Luton Gambian Association as historic.
According to the Luton Gambian Association's Secretary-General, Max Jallow, plans were in the offing to create sustainable link for Gambians in the UK and other people, particularly, Luton to support the development of Gambian sports and other areas.
The programme is in line with a move to express the association's appreciation to the U- 17 Football team for their outstanding achievement after winning Africa U-17 Football Competition, held in Algeria and leading the African continent to the forthcoming U-17 World Cup, scheduled in Nigeria
"Indeed support to the U-17 National Football Team is like investing for the growth of Gambian football. Therefore, all Gambians in the UK and well- wishers of the team are kindly invited to attend the programme with any support you can make would be highly appreciated," Secretary-General Max Jallow stated.
