Berewuleng FC Claim Brikama Super Cup

The 2008-2009 Brikama knock-out champions, Berewuleng FC were last Sunday crowned champions of this year Brikama Super Cup.

They defeated Real Sira's Suppliers FC 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out after 0-0 draw in the regular time of play, at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

The tightly-contested game was totally dominated and controlled by Real Sira's Suppliers FC and they have made some occasional goal opportunities, but failed to capitalise on their chances.

Berewuleng FC a well-experienced side with full experience players relied on counter-attacks and the first half ended 0-0.

As action resumed in the second half, Real Sira's Suppliers FC continued their supremacy in the game and launched some dangerous assaults in Berewuleng's eighteen yard area, but were unable to break the deadlock.

Berewuleng FC fought back and created some chances in the early part of the second, but were unable to make the best use of their chances. Thus, the 90th minute of play ended 0-0 and then the game went into a penalty shoot-out, which ended 5-4 in favour of Berewuleng FC.

As the champions, Berewuleng FC were awarded the championship, and a cash prize of D3,000, while Real Sira's Suppliers FC received D2,000 as the runners-up.
