Despite walloping Orlando FC 5-0 in their final group C encounter at the Brikama Mini Stadium in Wednesday?s clash, the last year?s knock-out champions Berewuleng FC failed to make it to the quarter-finals of the league championship.
Berewuleng FC who proves to be the better side during the game had numerous goal scoring opportunities in front of Orlando FC?s goal mouth. As a result, they opened the scores through winger Lamin Findi Jammeh in the 12th minute.
Berewuleng FC further turned the tables in their name by leading 3-0 ahead when striker Buba Faye and Abel Dudu netted the second and third goal in the 25th and 35th minute of the game, respectively.
Berewuleng FC highly depended on counter-attacks which helped them in sealing their victory in the 64th and 79th minute of the game through Omar Bojang and Lamin Sanneh.
Meanwhile, Daru FC and Amasa FC are the two lucky teams from group C that sailed into the quarter-finals.
Daru FC collected 8 points from four games, while Amasa FC collected 6, and Berewuleng collected FC 5.
