Bank PHB on Friday donated 20 bags of rice and 10 containers of 20 liters of cooking oil to the organisers of the forthcoming National Youth Conference and Festival (NAYCONF) at a ceremony held at the Independence Stadium at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, group head, retail banking, Bank PHB, Mrs. Fatou Mass Jobe Njie, said that her bank's strategic intent is to redefine service standards in the banking industry. According to her, beyond paying taxes bank PHB believe that cooperate citizenship is also about identifying with the needs of the people and helping to alleviate them so that they can have an enabling environment for continued profitable business. "To this extent, we are here this morning to lend a support to the Department of State for Youth and Sports for the successful implementation of NAYCONF 2008. The NAYCONF theme "invest in youths for sustainable development" falls in line with our inclination towards youth development". She also reaffirmed her Bank's continue support to the young people of The Gambia.
In receiving the food items, Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Mr. Sheriff Gomez, thanked Bank PHB for their timely intervention. He said that the donation is a clear manifestation of the bank's commitment in empowering Gambian youths.
The occasion was graced by Mrs. Rohy, Touray branch manager Bank PHB Bakau, Musa Njie, Director of Independence Stadium, Mr. Tombong Jadama, chairperson NAYCONF Media Sub -committee and others.
