President
Yahya Jammeh has appointed Bala Garba Jahumpa as Minister for Transport, Works
and Infrastructure with immediate effect, a post he held up to August when he
was appointed Gambia’s Ambassador to India.
Jahumpa
has served in various ministries in Jammeh’s government. He is also the
Secretary General of the ruling APRC party.
Dodou
Bammy Jagne, who was occupying the post since 18 August 2016, has been relieved
of his appointment.
Jagne
first entered the Cabinet on 30 June 2016 as SG and head of the Civil Service
and Minister of Presidential Affairs, until 18 August.
Sulayman
Samba, Minister for Presidential Affairs, has been relieved of that post, but
he is still Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.
