Over 1,000 students from grades 4-6 of
15 students contested for the positions of head boy and assistant head boy, head girl and assistant head girl out of which four were elected for said positions.
The other defeated students will serve as councilors to assist the new head boy and his team.
Having score 509 and 515 out of the total number of votes cast, Muhammed Saho and Saffiatou Hydara respectively emerged as winners the new head boy and head girl of the school.
Speaking to this reporter shortly after the election, the teacher chairman of the election, Mr. Alhagie Pa Amat Secka, described the election as free and fair.
According to Mr. Secka, both candidates were given a one-week campaign period in order for them to sell their manifestos to their colleagues so as to gain their support. He urged the new councilors to live up to their expectations and maintain peace during school hours. Mr.Secka thanked the administration of the school for their support during and after the election period.
Both the new head boy Muhammed Saho and the new head girl Saffiatou Hydara thanked their colleagues for voting them into their new offices. They promised to work amicably with the administration and the teachers for the progress of the school.
