Bakau New Town LBS receives boost

Sulayman D. Jatta, a former teacher at Bakau New Town Lower Basic School, who is currently residing in the United Kingdom (UK) yesterday donated praying mats, amounting to 240 Pounds Sterling to Bakau New Town Lower Basic School Mosque.

The donation, which came through Yasuffi Bobb, former headmistress of the school, is part of Jatta's contribution towards the development of the school.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the former headmistress of the school, Yasuffi Bobb, said the donation came to her as a surprise. According to her, the significance of the donation cannot be over-emphasised, noting that the praying mats would serve its rightful purpose. 

She seized the opportunity to call on the teachers to remain united and have mutual respect for the development of the school. She also urged the students to love Islam and strive for the cause of Allah, the Almighty.

For her part, the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Sainabou Lowe, described the donation as timely and significant, adding that it would go a long way towards promoting Islam. 

She urged other donors to emulate Mr. Jatta, adding that since his departure to the UK, Jatta did not forget the school and the administration. He finally applauded the donor for his kind gesture.
