Babylon 55 Trial Deferred Again

The Babylon trial involving 55 accused persons was last Tuesday deferred again at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh.

However despite the presence of both the accused persons and the State Counsel the case could not proceed as the defence counsel Antumana Gaya was absent from. Because of the absent of the defence Counsel the accused persons could not able to take their plea with the new charges preferred against them.

In a separate development the trial of One Buba Colley continued last Monday at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Johnny Njie.

In his testimony, Kasim Touray a lecturer at the GambiaCollege told the court that he was having a 14 passenger sitter van and employed one Alieu Dumbuya as his driver. He said his driver one day reported sick and then decided to seek the services of the accused person for part time. He said the accused went with the vehicle and later disappeared with money collected from the passengers.
