The Brikama Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh recently heard a criminal case of assault causing actually bodily harm brought against one Mariama Jaiteh of Mandinary village.
According to the particulars of the offence, the accused Mariama Jaiteh on the 11th April 2009, at Mandinary village in Kombo North willfully and unlawfully assaulted one Fatoumatta Wally by hitting her with pestle on her head, thereby causing her actually bodily harm.
When the charge sheet was read to her in the language she claimed to understand she pleaded not guilty.
At that juncture the case was adjourned to 10th June 2009, before the accused was remanded in custody.
