The assault case causing actual bodily harm involving one Sally Sanyang, Monday proceeded at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court with the testimony of the first prosecution witness.

Mama Jabang, a resident of Sifoe Village, testified and told the court that she knew the accused person, as they share the same husband.

She adduced that their husband bought two refrigerators and put water inside the refrigerators for sale.

Mrs Jabang said that on 22 October 2011, she sent her daughter, Fatou Demba, to get her a pack of water to drink.

She said after drinking the water, the accused then called the daughter and asked her to pay for the water, adding that she told the accused that her daughter would not pay for the water, as it was their husband’s property.

She said there was an argument and as a result they fought, adding that after the fight, she met with the accused at the door of their house and the accused pulled a knife and stabbed her on her body.

At that juncture the case was adjourned till 19 March 2012.
