An assault case involving one Sheriff Colley was recently adjourned before Principal Magistrate Ibrahim Kijera of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

It was adjourned on the grounds that the prosecution witness who supposed to testify in the case was absent in court.

When the case was called, the prosecuting officer applied for an adjournment on the grounds that his witness was not in court.

The trial magistrate then asked the accused whether he had any objection to the application made by the prosecutor, but said he had no objection to the application.

The case at that juncture was adjourned till 8 February 2013.

The accused, Sheriff Colley, was charged with one count of assault, causing actual bodily harm, a charge he denied.
