The second division league of The Gambia Football Association domestic league is in high gear as teams battle for promotion to the first division league next season.

This year's leagues both first and second division, have shown that football has grown in this small nation with another battle in the second division after a heavy contest in the first division league.

The week 14 fixtures have demonstrated that teams are ready for promotion.

It also saw the like's of Sere Kunda East increasing their points to 24 after beating Flamemins 2-0 on Tuesday.

Kaira Silo made another move by trashing Jambanjelly 3-1 and climbing up to 20 points making the table very complicated with few games to go. This is also depicting that the last game's will also decide the second division league as well this year.

Nema United also shared points with Star Light in a goaless draw Tuesday evening at the Serrekunda West. Nema are now on 17 points while Starlight are on 8.

The trend in the second division league is heading towards a replica of last year as it will be fully recalled that there was a heavy battle with teams like Brikama United, Samger, and Interior FC who were vying for promotion. Samger and Brikama United were on 33 points each but Samger edged through with a goal difference of +10 while Brikama failed to make it despite their goal difference of +9.

What is more interesting and unpredictable in this league is that current league leaders Brikama United are leading the table and could extend or lose the top of the table if they lose to Tallinding United who are occupying the second position. Both teams will be meeting at the time of going to press and a win for either team will see them top the league table.

Ham Ham were also taking on the Young Africans.
