The theft case involving Alhagie Yusupha Barry and Ousainou Camara proceeded recently at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Landing Sanneh.

It proceeded with the testimony of Ebrima Sonko, a police officer attached to the Brusubi Police Station, CID unit.

Officer Sonko told the court he obtained both cautionary and voluntary statements from Barry, the 1st accused, in the presence of an independent witness.

He stated that the accused was never forced, neither was he promised anything, adding that the accused accepted the charge of stealing voluntarily without being forced.

“I signed, the independent witness signed, and the accused thumb-printed the statement,” he explained.

The statement was admitted and marked as exhibit without any objection.

 The case continues.
