Alleged theft case in court

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Ceesay recently heard a criminal case of stealing by clerk or servant brought against one Lamin Dibba.

Count one stated that on 3rd December 2008 at the Standard Chartered Bank Serrekunda branch in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused person, one Lamin Dibba, being employed by Project Aid Third World as Manager, by virtue of such employment stole D95,000 being the property of the said project.

Count two read that on 2nd February 2009 at the Standard Chartered Bank, Serrekunda branch in the Kanifing Municipality, being employed by Project Aid Third World stole D200, 000 being the property of the said project.

While count three revealed that on 3rd May 2010 at Standard Chartered Bank, Serrkunda branch in the Kanifing Municipality, being employed as Manager of Project Aid stole D35, 000, being the property of the said project.

Meanwhile, the court had maintained his police bail, but ordered him to surrender his travel documents.

The case was adjourned to 28th September 2010 for continuation.
