The alleged theft case involving one Lamin Demba was recently heard before Magistrate Serending Sanneh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
In his testimony, Sarjo Barrow, a military officer, told the court that on 15 May 2014, he was going for work when he noticed that their store was opened.
He said he thought his people in the compound might have forgotten to close it, and when he checked, he found that it was broken into.
He added that he followed the foot mark up to a junction where he met with one Kalilu, who told him that someone had entered into their compound and stolen.
He said Kalilu went around and later called him, adding that upon his arrival, he found the accused was holding two fowls, one of which Kalilu identified as his.
He said the accused was arrested and taken to Jidda police station, where he gave his statement.
The case was adjourned till 9 September 2014.
