The
murder trial involving one Lamin Sanneh proceeded recently at the Special
Criminal Court with the testimony of the third prosecution witness.
Alhagie Ceesay testified telling the court that at a night he was going to a shop when saw the accused chasing the deceased with a stick.
“I then tried to hold the accused, but he escaped from me,” he added.
He did not follow them, PW3 said, adding that while he was in his house, he had a noise in the street, saying: “He killed him.”
He was neither present when the fighting took place nor when the accused beat the deceased with a stick,” he added, saying: “I was told that the deceased was taken to the RVTH on that very night, where he was later pronounced dead. I gave a statement to the police.”
He also did not know the cause of death of the deceased, the witness added.
