Alleged murder case progresses

The murder trial involving one Lamin Sanneh proceeded recently at the Special Criminal Court with the testimony of the third prosecution witness.

Alhagie Ceesay testified telling the court that at a night he was going to a shop when saw the accused chasing the deceased with a stick.

“I then tried to hold the accused, but he escaped from me,” he added.

He did not follow them, PW3 said, adding that while he was in his house, he had a noise in the street, saying: “He killed him.”

He was neither present when the fighting took place nor when the accused beat the deceased with a stick,” he added, saying: “I was told that the deceased was taken to the RVTH on that very night, where he was later pronounced dead. I gave a statement to the police.”

He also did not know the cause of death of the deceased, the witness added.

The case continues.
