The murder case involving one Aja Suwareh continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul with the testimony of a prosecution witness.

Sulayman Jallow, who testified, told the court he is a butcher residing in Tabokoto.

Jallow also told the court that on 24 August 2011, at  6pm, when he returned home from work, he met people in their compound sitting, and when he asked his wife what was happening, the wife told him the accused, Aja Suwarreh, had stabbed one Fatoumata Bah with a knife.

The witness explained that the accused borrowed the said knife from his wife and after the incident the accused brought back the knife and placed it by the window.

He said he kept the knife and later took it to the Bundung Police Station, where he gave his statement.

Under cross-examination, the witness told the court that all what he said was hearsay.
