Alleged impersonation case adjourned

The criminal case of impersonation involving one Ousman Njie, on 19 May 2011 failed to proceed before Magistrate F.L. Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.

When the case was called, the prosecuting officer, CPL 3560 Colley, told the court that the defence counsel was not in court, adding that his witness, an NDEA officer, was in court but was later called.

He subsequently applied for a short adjournment to proceed with the matter.

His application was granted and the case adjourned till 26 May 2011.

The charge sheet revealed that in March 2011, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Ousman Njie, was found in possession of a toy pistol, handcuff and a police warrant card in the name of Lamin Manjang and falsely represented himself to be a police officer to wit carrying out some police duties.
