One Joseph Carol was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court charged with stealing by clerk or servant.
Mr. Carol pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was subsequently granted court bail in the sum of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who resides within the Kanifing Municipality.
According to the charge sheet, on 26 August 2010 at Gambia Electrical Company Ltd in the Kanifing Municipality, being an employee of the Gambia Electrical Company Ltd and by virtue of that employment he stole four refrigerator compressors of total value D20,700, being the property of the GEC Company Ltd.
The case was adjourned to 18 October 2010 for continuation.
