Samba Jallow was recently arraigned before Magistrate Edward Singhateh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with obtaining money by false pretence.
Jallow denied the charge and was granted court bail of D100,000 with two Gambian sureties.
According to the particulars of offence, in 2000, at Farato Village, Kombo South, West Coast Region, the accused, Samba Jallow, with intent to defraud, obtained D80,000 from one Sarjo Fofana in exchange of a piece of land, which representation he knew to be false.
The case was then adjourned till 23 August 2011.
