Alleged Cattle Rustlers Remanded

Liege Sowe, Momodou Yarrow Jallow, Abdul Mazib Sowe, Kema Sowe and Pateh Sowe were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh on the allegation of cattle theft contrary to section 252 of the criminal code cap 10 vol III laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 22nd January 2009 at Banyaka village Kombo South Western Region, the accused persons were alleged to have stolen cattle valued at D10,000 being the property of Sam Mendy.

When the charge was read to them the first accused person, Legi Sowe, pleaded guilty while the other accused persons, Momodou Yerrow Jallow, Abdul Mazib Sowe, Kemo Sowe and Pateh Sowe pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile the accused persons were remanded in custody until the next adjourned date.
