The police have indicted one Jatou Sonko, age 22, for the alleged murder of her biological brother.
Jatou Sonko was arraigned yesterday before the Brikama Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of his brother, Karamo Sonko, a charge that carries the death penalty or life in prison.
The particulars of the offence revealed that on 6th February 2010, at New Yundum, Jatou murdered her brother by stabbing him with a knife.
The accused, who was crying bitterly in a crowded courtroom, was subsequently remanded in custody pending the transfer of the case to the Special Criminal Court of the High Court that has jurisdiction to try her.
