Alagie Nyassi, head coach of Tallinding United, has said the ultimate objective of the Tallinding outfit is to regain promotion to the country’s top flight league.
Nyassi, who was speaking to Pointsport in a recent interview, added that Tallinding are working hard to catch up with other top teams in the league as the race for the division one league football gains momentum.
He said the first round of the division two league was interesting, which saw them take fourth position on the league standing with 12 points in 9 games.
“We have an interesting first round but we will continue to work very hard for the second round of the league to improve our standings,” said Nyassi, who holds the portfolio of secretary general of SESDO.
Asked whether he had achieved his target in the first round of the league, Nyassi responded, saying: “We did not achieve our target because we wanted to finish first or second position in the first round but we will fight back during the second round to gain promotion to the first division league.”
He added: “Our aim is to at least collect a point against Hawks FC and Seaview FC because they are big teams and I know the coming of Mamut Saine will boost the morale of Seaview FC in the second round of the league.
Asked further whether there is any team that has really posed serious threat to them in the first round of the league, Nyassi said: “I cannot say that teams have posed threat to us but it was hard against Hawks FC, Seaview FC, Serrekunda United and Banjul United.”
