Africell launches D3M Euro 2016 coverage with GRTS

The country’s number one private GMS operator Africell yesterday launched three million dalasi (3,000,000) EURO 2016 coverage deal with the Gambia Radio and Television Services for the live broadcasting of the European football championship to be hosted in France from 10 June to 10 July 2016 at its head office on Kairaba Avenue.

In his launching statement, Musa Sise, said Africell are proud to launch EURO 2016 for the live broadcast of the European championship, adding that they want the Gambians to watch the championship in their houses because the competition will commence during Ramadan.

There are lots of surprised prizes to Africell subscribers during the course of the championship, he said, noting that GRTS will broadcast all the matches during the championship.

Sise further revealed that Africell wants to make their subscribers millionaires during the European championship.

Sise said Africell sponsored the live broadcast of 2006 World Cup hosted in Germany, 2010 World Cup hosted in South Africa and 2014 World Cup hosted in Brazil.

Sise pointed outside and Africell has 1.5 million subscribers in the country while thanking them for patronizing the company.

Sise lamented that “Africell covers 95% of the country and would continue to render support to sports, adding that the company paid the wages of the former Gambia national team coach Paul putt.

For his part, Ebrima Barry, Human Resource Manager, said the Africell is delight to sponsor the live coverage of EURO 2016, saying that the coverage on National TV would aid people to watch the championship.
