The affray and assault trial involving Ousman Drammeh and Sainey Njie continued on Monday at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Abeke.
Testifying for the prosecution, Bakary L. kanteh told the court that he resides at Kiang Kenaba and he works for MRC as senior Field Assistance.
He said he recognised the accused persons and on 19 March 2011, he was from Kiang with one Buwa Njie on board the vehicle to the Kombos with the second accused being the apprentice.
The first prosecution witness further adduced that while in the vehicle, the second accused, Sainey Njie, asked Buwa Njie whether he had baobab fruit and Buwa replied in the negative.
He added that it was then the second accused told Buwa that he was not going to get baobab fruit because they were going to set the bush on fire, adding that Buwa told the second accused that it was bad to set the bush on fire.
The witness added that the first accused, Ousman Drammeh, also joined and there was exchange of abusive words between the two accused persons, which resulted into a fight inside the vehicle.
He said he then asked the driver to stop and during the cause of the fighting, the first accused fell on the vehicle and was bleeding from his nose and mouth, adding that the second accused also suffered a dislocated finger and was also bleeding from his face.
The case was, after the hearing on that day, adjourned till 18 April 2011.
