Kadijatou Manneh, an activist of the Africa Youth Coalition Against Hunger (AYCAH)-Gambia chapter has called for a need for people to grow more food to feed the hungry.
Kadijatou was speaking recently in Basse during the celebrations marking World Food Day.
"Access to food is a fundamental human rights and the inability to realise this right has an impact on the realisation of all other fundamental rights," she stated.
The Activista further noted that Global food crisis is an issue of great concern, hence millions of people go to bed with empty stomach. People, she said, have equal rights to access food, urging government, NGOs and the farming community to do more to have enough food.
