Actions
are set to resume in the 2016 Gunjur summer biggest football fray better known
as ‘nawettan’, after December 1 presidential election.
The
news was announced at a meeting between Gunjur Sports Committee and team
delegates at the Gunjur DayCare Centre on Saturday.
It
would be recalled that Red Star Family FC will lock horns with Reliance
Financial Services FC in the 2016 Gunjur knockout final after winning their
semifinal matches.
Red
Star Family beat FC Bax 1-0 in the semifinal to progress to the knockout final,
courtesy of defender Saikou Barrow, in the second half.
Reliance
Financial Services FC defeated Gam Rock FC on the same score-line in the
semifinal to advance to the knockout final against Red Star Family FC, courtesy
of defender Fabakary Touray alias Maxi from the penalty spot after Gam Rock’s
captain Bolong Susso alias Del Piero handled the ball inside the crucial area.
Reliance
Financial Services FC will meet Black Star FC in the 2016 Green Vision
International Real Estate Company Limited-sponsored Gunjur nawettan league
quarterfinal.
Red
Star Family FC will clash with Waves FC in the other quarterfinal game.
Kundembo
FC and reigning league champions Dunes FC of Nyofelleh village are through to
the semifinal in the 2016 Green Vision International Real Estate Company
Limited-sponsored Gunjur Nawettan league semifinal winning their quarterfinal
matches.
The
Gunjur Asselem-based outfit beat Solid Properties FC 1-0 in the quarterfinal to
progress to the semifinal.
The
Nyofelleh-based outfit defeated Gam Rock FC on penalties, after the regulation
time failed to produce a winner in the quarterfinal.
