Abuko
United Women team is set to rub shoulders with Darsilami Women’s team in a
friendly slated for Saturday 24 December 2016, at the Darsilami football field.
Speaking
in an interview with Pointsport, Modou Jarju, head coach of Abuko United
Women’s team, said the friendly match is part of the team’s efforts at
stretching their muscle for the ongoing Gambia Football Federation domestic
division one women’s league.
Jarju
added that as players, it is sometimes good to go away to taste different
atmosphere.
Assistant
head coach Yaya Dampha noted in his remarks that it is a proposal from the
village women team, hence “it is excellent to go out and play away from home”.
Mariama
Malack, captain of Abuko United Women’s team, said playing against Darsilami
Village Women’s team is timely, adding that the friendly would really aid them
in attaining their objective in the National Women’s division one league
season.
