A boost for GRTS satellite project

The government of the Republic of China on Taiwan through its embassy in Banjul on Monday 11th January 2010, presented a cheque for three million dollars to The Gambia government, earmarked for the GRTS satellite project.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the presentation, Ambassador Richard Shih expressed delight in presenting the cheque to the government on behalf of his government.

He used the opportunity to thank President Jammeh, the government and people of The Gambia for its unflinching support to Taiwan at the international arena.

He harped on the existing cordial ties between Banjul and Taipei.

Ambassador Shih was accompanied to State House by his deputy Mr.Herman Chui and fisrt secretary Tom Lee.
