Sally Konteh, a 6-year-old girl, is in need of urgent help to undergo overseas medical treatment.

Speaking yesterday in an interview at The Point offices, Harouna Konteh, father of the patient, said his daughter is suffering from a heart problem and was hospitalised at the Medical Research Council (MRC) for a while.

A resident of Bundung in the Kanifing Municipality, Mr Konteh is appealing for support from the government, the private sector, philanthropists, donors, NGOs, companies and individuals to come to the aid of her daughter to undergo medical treatment abroad.

Meanwhile, according to the medical report issued by the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) on 3 August 2011, Sally Konteh is suffering from heart disease that cannot be treated in The Gambia; she therefore needs to undergo medical treatment abroad.

In an interview with this reporter yesterday at The Point offices in Fajara, Sally’s father, Harouna Konteh, said the family could not afford to take Sally abroad, hence the need for support from the government and the general public.

He is pleading with President Jammeh to come to the aid of his daughter and further appeals to philanthropists, donors, NGOs, companies and individuals to also give a helping hand to take his  child abroad for the appropriate treatment.
