40th World Schoolchildren's Art Exhibition Calls for Entries

The 40th World Schoolchildren's Art exhibition is been announced to be held in Taipei, Republic of China (Taiwan) from the 4th to 20th September 2009.

School children in the Gambia between the ages of 6 and 15 are qualified to apply.

The purpose of the exhibition is to promote mutual understanding and friendship among the young generation of the world through the exchange of children's art works.

According to a media dispatch from the Taiwanese Embassy in Banjul, the annual art exhibition is being organised by the 'Association for Education Through Art Republic of China' and the 'Association of Formative Art Education for the Republic of China'.

Teachers in the country are encouraged to assist the children to facilitate their participation in the international art exhibition, the release added.

The artwork verities include oil painting, water colors, wood cut prints, collages, etching, and graphic design among others and must be measure within 55cm X 40 cm.

The artwork should include the full name of the child, date and place of birth, sex, nationality as well as the name and address of the school.

The deadline for the submission of works to the Taiwanese embassy is 10th April 2009.

Winning artist will be awarded just like previous years with certificates, prizes, including gold and silver medals as well as cash prizes.
