As part of the 2012 winter tourist season, the Condor flight from Germany last Friday touched down at the Banjul International Airport with 160 tourists on board.
The aircraft landed by 10:22 pm and tourists on board were received by the director general of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTB) on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and Culture.
Speaking to journalists shortly after, Benjamin Roberts said the coming of the Condor flight is part of increasing this year’s tourist season.
He added that the Ministry of Tourism and GTB are working very hard with partners in the Scandinavian countries so that more tourists will come this year.
The GTB director general explained that next year the Ministry and GTBoard will work to increase the market, noting that this year’s tourist season looks positive, adding that more tourists are expected to come to this country.
Adama Njie, director of Marketing GTB, also said last year it was one flight from Condor, but this year its two flights.
“We are also working to increase the number which is a very good for The Gambia”.
