15 Years for Manslaughter

The Banjul High Court on Thursday convicted and sentenced one Kemo Trawally to 15 years imprisonment for the offence of manslaughter.

The convict Kemo Trawally was said to have cause the death of one Momodou Ceesay by stabbing him with a knife in Brikama Hawla-kunda and it happened on the 26 October 2005.

Following his plea of guilt to the charged and the mitigation led by his defense counsel, he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with hardlabour including the three years and three months he had already spend in remand custody.

The case was presided over by Mrs Justice Mabel Maane Agyemang.
