The fifteen finalists to compete for the Miss Tourism Gambia crown are set to be staged on 23 May 2014 at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
Fatima Jobe, a Gambian-Senegalese currently training the 15 finalists for the all-important tourism pageantry, has said the finalists are talented youths, who are very confident and can be very strong action-oriented female leaders.
Ms Jobe was speaking to reporters last Thursday at the Seaview Bambo Hotel shortly after a press conference on final of the Miss Tourism Gambia 2014 to be held at the Kairaba Beach Hotel on Saturday 3 May 2014.
She said she has seen that The Gambia has talented females, although there is a lot of work to be done with the girls.
She said there will be two Spanish on the ground to train the 15 finalists. These Spanish will not only train the girls, they will also impart awareness in them on what they will become, as “being an ambassador of Tourism and representing your country is not an easy task”.
She advised the girls to stay natural as much as possible because one will not be selected the Miss Tourism Gambia 2014 without being natural or be oneself.
“The Gambia is a small country; let’s communicate, break that communication barrier that exist between a mother and a daughter, father and a son, sister and a brother, a neighbour and a friend, so the communication can bring more understanding,” she concluded.
