NEVER SECOND-GUESS GOD!

Jan 7, 2026, 12:25 PM

Some people do not know what they are getting into when they fail to adhere to instructions - to the letter. God's instructions this time around.

Abram heard a voice that ordered him to leave his hometown and family, to a place which he would be shown. (Gen. 12:1) Abram leaves home in obedience but not in complete obedience.  He decides to take his nephew Lot with him. This gesture of taking Lot with him was not part of God's plan, but his own idea. So naturally they began to have issues.

Lot became rich as a result of his uncle's 'largesse' and was getting too big for his shoes. Worse still their herdsmen began quarrelling. So, it was time for them to split. Abram cautioned his nephew that there was no need for any dispute. Lot decides to go east, he goes west and peace was restored.

Watch out those to whom you offer help or assistance who later grow wings and can stand up to you, their benefactor.

Be careful also to listen attentively to what God said. "Abraham, leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you." (Gen. 12:1) Your kindness could bring you more problems than you ever anticipated.
