Big Banga bags GSN Artists of 3 times in a row

The country’s most successful Sarahule artist, Big Banga, was recently named 2023 Artist of the Year during The Gambia Soninkara Namansanou Musical Awards nigh held at Pencha Mi Hall at the Paradise Suits in Senegambia.

The annual honour marked the artist’s third in three years. Other artists honoured include Bononteh, the Upcoming Artist of the Year. Kumba Lagare, Cultural Artist of the Year.

Buriema, known as DBM, won the Song of the Year and Video of the Year Awards. Muhaba Empire bagged the Best Stage Performance of the Year Award, while Bintou Jawneh won the Female Artist of the Year Award.

Dumo, his lastest collaboration with Gambian sensation Sana Sighateh (ST) earned won him the Collabo of the Year Award.

This was the 9th edition of the Soninkara Namansanou Musical Awards. It is organized to recognize the work of artists within the Sarahule community and to revive the cultural heritage of their ancestors.
