WAFU Zone A U-17 tourney to commence in January 29

The 2021 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) zone A U-17 football tournament is set to start on 29 January 2021 in Sierra Leone.

The sub-regional football championship was initially slated for December 2020 but the tournament was postponed.

The tournament will serve as qualifiers for the 2021 Africa U-17 Youth Championship to be staged in Morocco.

The Gambia U-17 team under the guidance of Coach Abdoulie Bojang are currently preparing themselves set for the annual football tournament at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum.

Coach Bojang and his charges played series of test matches with Division One and Two League clubs to prepare themselves well for the 2021 WAFU zone A U-17 football tournament.

Meanwhile, The Gambia U-20 team clinched the 2020 WAFU zone A U-20 trophy to secure qualification to the 2021 Africa U-20 Youth Championship to be held in Mauritania.
