Veronic Aisha Malack, Gambia Football Federation’s (GFF) assistant women’s coordinator has hailed organisers of the unique friendly between the GFF Women’s best players in both the 1st and 2nd Division Leagues.

She noted that the match was never organised during their playing days in the GFF Division Leagues.

Miss Malack made the remarks in an interview with our reporter during a friendly game between GFF Women’s best eleven in the 1st Division League and best eleven in the 2nd Division League played at the Serrekunda East Park last week Monday.

The game was organised by Gam Women’s Football Fans and Scorpions TV.

“Such a game had never been organised during our time as players in the Division League. Having such a game with the park full to its capacity is a big encouragement and achievement in the development of women’s football in the country,” she stated.

According to her, the encounter was unique in the advancement of women football in The Gambia, adding that a lot is in the pipeline geared towards the development of women’s football.

Meanwhile, Veronic Aisha Malack has been awarded a scholarship by The Gambia Football Federation to undergo a one-year post-graduate Master’s in Management, Law and Humanities of Sports, dubbed the FIFA Master’s Programme.

She left for the United Kingdom over the weekend and will attend the first part of her course at De Montfort University in Leicester (UK), then to SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan (Italy) and finally to University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
