Tujereng embraces first-ever football award night

Tujereng Youth and Sports Development Committee (TYSDC) over the weekend held its first-ever football award night ceremony at the Tujereng CCF Nursery School.

The award night was organised to recognise tremendous achievements registered by players, coaches and match officials.

The award night brought together team presidents, football administrators, players, parents and other important dignitaries.

Chairman of Tujereng Youth and Sports Development Committee, Fabakary Marena, stated that the award night ceremony marked history in Tujereng sports.

Marena further stated the award night ceremony was organised to recognise the efforts invested in development of grassroots football and athletes.

He revealed that football administrators create enabling environment and resources together to boost the performance of young sports personalities.

General Secretary of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Lamin Jassey, thanked Tujereng Sports Committee for organising the award night ceremony, adding that the football federation is behind young people of Tujereng.

Jassey lamented the significance of sports, particularly football, saying it cannot be overemphasised.

Alkalo of Tujereng, Karamo S. Bojang, thanked Tujereng Sports Committee for organising the first-ever award night ceremony.

Certificates and trophies were awarded to the winners during the award night ceremony.

Fatou Ndow won the most active female in sports award, while White Devil received the best fan club of the year award.

Ismaila O. Jatta won the best home referee of the year award, while Leicester City received the best team of the year award.

Essa Keita of Buntalana FC won the best coach of the year award, while Saraney Jammeh of Buntalana FC received the best goalkeeper of the year award.

Aminata Beyai of victory Athletic Academy won the best female athlete of the year award, while Karamo Marena of victory Athletic Academy received the best male athlete of the year award.

Musa Marena of Queens Park Rangers won the best player of the year award.
