TMT embrace maiden award night

TMT FC last week Wednesday held its first award night ceremony at the Sunset Hotel in Kotu.

In her welcoming remarks, Secretary General of the club, Mariama K. Jagne, stated that the gathering was meant to recognize excellence, dedication and remarkable achievements of individuals.

''Let us join hands to applaud our achievements and inspirations,'' Jagne said.

Coach and football administrator, Francois Zoko, commended TMT president Omar H.O Saidkhan for his great vision.

''I have been talking with Omar Saidykhan for the last four years and my main goal here is more useful.”

Zoko revealed that he played in Ivory Coast and grew there before moving to France.

He further revealed that he had joined the academy at the age of 16, adding that he can help many more coaching programmes and curriculums for players to go to the highest level.

TMT Academy/Club finance director,  Muhammed Trawally, lamented that TMT now is a house-hold name in The Gambia.

Trawally further lamented that since the inception of the club they have been doing a lot of work in terms of finance and support rendered to the team.

He reiterated that the award ceremony was organised to recognize the efforts, commitment, sacrifice and dedication of the team.

Team Manager Assan Jarju stated that the gathering was not just an award ceremony, but to celebrate the incredible journey of TMT Academy/Club.

“Since establishment of the club in 2020, the club has grown to become one of the most competitive and respected clubs in The Gambia,'' Jarju said.

He gave an overview of how TMT secured promotion, the club crowned champions of the regional championship in Banjul.

''We played the GFF triangle match and gained promotion to the Second Division League after snatching 4 points,'' Jarju explained.

Jarju stated that TMT was built from an academy, plying their trade in the Third Division League, and less than five years, they were able to achieve awards.

They secured two silver medals and two goal medals.

Jarju thanked the players, the technical staff and management for their commitment and the trust they for the players.

Dr Abba Kebbeh thanked the management of TMT for the support rendered to the team over the years.

''We are ready to write a new chapter at the club. We have lots of talents; so the best is yet come,'' Kebbeh said.

 

President of TMT, Omar H.O Saidykhan, thanked each and everyone for supporting the team through their journey. “Without your support, we would not have reached where we are today” Saidykhan said.

 

Meanwhile, Yankuba Ceesay received top goal scorer award while Mustapha Ceesay received the most discipline player award.

 

Musa Camara received the most discipline player award, while Mustapha Touray received the coaches' player of the year award.

Sanna Jassey received young best player of season award, while Anthony Gomez received most valuable player award.

Yusupha Badjie received the most dedicated player award, while Saikou Barrow received the most hardworking player.

Yankuba Mass Ceesay received player of the season award.
