Tallinding Utd slashes Red Hawks to clutch 2nd spot in 2nd Tier

Tallinding United on Monday defeated Red Hawks 3-1 in their week-15 match played at the Real de Banjul Football Field to secure second-place in the 2021-2022 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League.

 

The Tallinding based-team were sitting fourth-place on the country’s Second Tier table with 23 points prior to their game with Red Hawks, who are contending for survival in the Second Division League with 12 points.

Tallinding United knew that a defeat against Red Hawks would dash their chances of regaining promotion to the country’s elite league next season.

The Tallinding based-team came for the vital three points to close the gap on league leaders Gunjur United and dominated Red Hawks in the match, crafting numerous goal scoring opportunities.

Tallinding United netted three goals in the match to snatch a resounding win over Red Hawks to clutch second-place on the Second Division League table with 26 points.

Red Hawks scored one goal in the match, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

The Young Red Devils remained 16th place on the Second Tier table with 12 points after losing to Tallinding United.
