The Dembadou boys lost to Foni 2-0 in their opening Group A match played at the Bwiam Football Field on Sunday prior to their crunch clash with FABY, who drew 1-1 with Gunjur in their opening group match played at the Farato Football Field.
Sukuta needed a victory against FABY to maintain their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the annual West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
The Dembadou boys dominated the ball possession and created goal scoring chances.
Sukuta opened the scores through striker Baboucarr Jatta in the 19th minute of the match before Musa Drammeh extended their lead in the 63rd minute.
FABY fought back for an equaliser and created a few goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on them thus them thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Sukuta.
Upon resumption of the match, Sukuta picked up where they left in the first half and dominated FABY in the midfield, crafting numerous goal scoring opportunities.
Baboucarr Jatta scored the third goal for Sukuta in the 73 rd minute of the match to complete his brace thus the match ended 3-0 in favour of Sukuta.
Sukuta now secured 3 points after two group matches.
FABY must win their remaining group matches to progress to the quarter-finals of the 2023 West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
