Scorpion’s striker, Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally has guided The Gambia to a 1-0 away win over Chad during their first leg of the Afcon 2023 Preliminary qualifiers played at the Ahmadu Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon yesterday, Wednesday.

The Ajman striker, who came in as a substitute scored the only goal of the game for the Scorpions with a beautiful left-footed striker in the 80th minute.

Steve Trawally who was criticized during the Afcon tournament by a large number Gambian football fans for leaving the Scorpions in Cameroon, will hope to use the goal to finally put smile on the faces of Gambians.

The Gambia, who impressed during their first ever Afcon tournament appearance in Cameroon, by reaching the quarterfinals will be hoping for another taste of Africa’s flagship tournament after taking advantage during the first leg.
