Both sides played brilliant football and numerous goal scoring but missed to capitalize on them thus the match ended goalless.
This pushed the match into post-match penalty shootouts, which ended 5-4 in fovour of Star Boys.
As champions, Star Boys went home with a giant trophy, gold medals and a cash prize of D75,000, while Babun Fatty received silver medals and D50,000 as runners-up.
Meanwhile, Tigers FC secured third-place following their 1-0 victory over T. Town.
The T. Town Boys received D15, 000 as third-place holder.
Speaking after the final, President Adama Barrow reiterated his government’s willingness to empower youth, create opportunities through sports and invest in talents.
Barrow added that football has the power to unite people despite their differences.
"Bring young people from across the country under the spirit of football, unity and brotherhood would promote peace and stability in our motherland," Barrow noted.
Barrow revealed that the tournament promotes discipline, teamwork, support youth development through sports educations and skills training.
He further revealed that the tournament would create opportunities for youth to succeed in life.
Barrow stated that he would continue to increase investments in sports development in terms of improving infrastructure, participation and performance.
“The naming tournament named after me clearly symbolizes the development of sports in the country,” Barrow said
Barrow applauded the organizing committee of the tournament, Ministry of Youth and Sports, The Gambia Police Force and stakeholders for their support and contribution.
The minister of Youth and Sports, Bakary Y. Badjie, expressed appreciation to President Barrow for agreeing to name the tournament after him.
