In her welcoming remarks, Nyima Bah, a member of Smiling Coast Fans Club thanked the members for their passion, dedication unwavering commitment to the fans club over the years.
Bah also thanked those who supported them along the way, adding that their contributions have been invaluable.
National Assembly Member for Bundungka Kunda Constituency, Hon. Sulayman Jammeh, stated that it was great day for him and Smiling Coast Fans Club since the establishment of the fans club.
Hon. Jammeh further stated he was proud of smiling Coast Fans Club, adding that they were good citizens of the country and national assets.
‘‘We have so many groups here but I am very passionate with their activities,” Hon Jammeh said.
Hon. Jammeh thanked Serrekunda East sports committee for supporting Smiling Coast Fans Club.
He encouraged Smilling Fans Club to continue championing discipline they are known for.
Hon. Jammeh thanked Mamie Sira for modernising the Smiling Coast Fans Club.
He also thanked Smiling Coast Fans Club for participating in the cleansing exercise held in his constituency.
President of Serrekunda Sports Development (SESDO), Modou Yusupha Cham, stated that he was happy to be part of Smiling Coast Fans Club fifth year anniversary celebration, adding that they are not known for only football entertainment.
Cham further stated that SESDO would continue to render support to Smiling Coast Fans Club.
He acknowledged everyone who supported Smiling Coast Fans Club during their fifth year anniversary celebration.
President of Smiling Coast Fans Club, Mamie Sira Gai-Jagne, revealed that she was proud to be the founder and current president of Smilling Coast Fans Club.
Gai Jagne stated that the group was established on May 7th 2021 aimed at supporting all sports and help youth.
She further stated that they are dreaming to create a space and unite in their love for sports, cheer teams and uplift one another.
‘‘We believe in our own way, we have been part of their successes.
Our passion for sports has taken us far and wide, we were in Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations,’’Gai Jagne explained.
Gai Jagne revealed that they are proud to clinch the Best Fan Club Award.
She revealed that they brought energy to The Gambia senior national team when they clash with South Sudan in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match played in Thies, Senegal, in which the Scorpions defeated South Sudan 1-0.
“We supported our national athletes, our inter-school athletics champions. We supported the international boxing competition held at Africell Traffic Light in 2023.”
