SK East starts nawetan qualifiers

Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) over the weekend commenced its 2023 ‘nawetan’ qualify round matches.

The qualifying round process, which is a knockout format for places in the nawetan proper is currently ongoing at the Tallinding Buffer Zone Football Field.

The SESDO committee played eight games over the weekend.

Sunshine FC defeated Bathurst FC 3-1 on penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time in the early morning kickoff.

The all-Bundung affair match saw both sides creating clear-cut chances but could not convert any of them thus forcing the game into penalty shootout.

The later morning encounter saw Real de Bundung Borehole FC eliminating by Strikers Bundung FC 2-1 on post-match penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw during regulation time.

Malang Krubally scored for Strikers Bundung in the 18th minute while Assan Jobe equalized for Real de Bundung Borehole in the 59th minute.

G.B Latville beat Waa Bundung 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the early afternoon game.

Saikou Jabang gave G.B Latville the lead in the 49th minute before Ebrima Fofana equalized for Waa Bundung in the 58th minute.

Real de Bundung defeated Bundaster FC 1-0 during the late afternoon encounter.

It was the first game that produced a winner in regulation time during the first set of matches in the Serrekunda East nawetan qualifiers.

Muhammed Jammeh’s 3rd minute own-goal seperated the two sides.

On Sunday, BK Pythons made it through to the next round after defeating Team Yongo 5-4 on penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time of the early morning match.

Blue Boys were defeated by Diamano FC 1-0 during the late morning game. Muhammed Jobe was the hero of the day, scoring for Diamano FC in 34th minute.
