The Coastal Town boys defeated COSDA 1-0 in their tightly-contested semi-final match played at the Sanyang Football Field on Saturday.
Gunjur and COSDA both made astonishing starts to the match and launched numerous goal scoring attempts but were wasteful in front of goal.
Midfielder Sulayman Sanyang alias Montero gave Gunjur the lead in the 20th minute of the match from a stunning free-kick, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Coastal Town boys.
COSDA responded for an equaliser and crafted some goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on them thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Gunjur.
Upon resumption of the match, COSDA injected several fresh legs to reinforce their attacking tag and controlled Gunjur in the midfield, creating goal scoring opportunities but were not clinical in front of goal thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Gunjur.
